How do I play ÆRTHLINGS?

ÆRTHLINGS is a game about rebuilding ÆRTH! Your main goal is to earn Hearts and use them to expand and unlock nearby CHONKS of ÆRTH. Along the way you’ll need to gather resources, defeat pesky MOONLINGS and overcome difficult Challenge Stones.

How do I earn Hearts?

The simplest way to earn a Heart is to restore damaged pieces of ÆRTH—healing all of the scars on a CHONK will reward you with a Heart. You can also earn Hearts by completing requests for the ÆRTHLINGS in your collection.

How do I complete ÆRTHLING Requests?

Check your “Hearts” quests to see what ÆRTHLINGS are currently requesting. You can tap on a request to see how to construct the item or items they’re looking for. You might need to build a workstation like a Carpentry Bench before you can construct certain items.

How do I unlock more recipes at a crafting station?

Completing an ÆRTHLING request for a new item unlocks that item at a crafting bench permanently! For example, if you complete an ÆRTHLING’S request for a Birdhouse then you will permanently unlock the Birdhouse recipe at the Carpentry Bench.

How can I get more ÆRTHLING requests?

You can re-roll any ÆRTHLING request by using a “re-roll token”; these tokens slowly refresh over time. You can unlock the ability to view more ÆRTHLING requests at a time by constructing more ÆRTHLING Houses

How can I construct ÆRTHLING houses?

Any ÆRTHLING without its own house may request one whenever you get a new request. Increase the size of your ÆRTHLINGS collection to build more houses and unlock more request slots!

How can I add more ÆRTHLINGS to my collection?

The best way to earn more ÆRTHLINGS is by scanning in new ÆRTHLINGS FIGS or trading FIGS with a friend. Each FIG you scan or trade will unlock a new digital ÆRTHLING!

Why can’t I expand some CHONKS even if I have enough Hearts?

To expand into higher level CHONKS you’ll need to first upgrade your Beacon! It’s a small black obelisk found on your starting CHONK. To upgrade your Beacon you’ll need to interact with it and then spend an amount of ÆRTIFACTS.

How do I earn ÆRTIFACTS?

You can earn ÆRTIFACTS by defeating Challenge Stones found on some CHONKS of ÆRTH. Interact with a glowing Challenge Stone to start a timed challenge; if you are victorious then you will earn an ÆRTIFACT that you can use to upgrade your Beacon.

How do I heal my ÆRTHLING?

The best way to heal your ÆRTHLING is by feeding them some food! Some ÆRTHLINGS unlock other ways to heal through special effects and MUTÆTIONS.

How can my ÆRTHLINGS grow stronger?

There are three main ways to increase the strength of your ÆRTHLINGS Squad! The first is by increasing the level of your ÆRTHLINGS. The second is by unlocking upgrades at buildings scattered across ÆRTH. The third is by spending MUTÆTION Points to unlock MUTÆTION upgrades for your ÆRTHLINGS.

How do I level up my ÆRTHLINGS?

ÆRTHLINGS level up by gaining XP which can be earned by completing many different tasks! Defeating MOONLINGS, harvesting resources and even eating certain foods are good ways to earn XP for your ÆRTHLINGS.

Why did my ÆRTHLING stop leveling up?

If your ÆRTHLING’s level turns red then its level has been “capped” by the level of your Beacon. Try leveling up your Beacon to increase the level cap of your ÆRTHLINGS! Your ÆRTHLING can still gain levels and XP while they’re capped, but their “effective level” on ÆRTH will be limited by the Beacon.

How do I earn MUTÆTION Points for my ÆRTHLINGS?

MUTÆTION Points primarily come from “Scan Chests” and “LINEAGE Chests”. You earn a Scan Chest with MUTÆTION Points whenever you scan a new ÆRTHLINGS FIG. You’ll earn a LINEAGE Chest whenever one of your ÆRTHLING’S LINEAGES level up.

How do LINEAGES level up?

An ÆRTHLING’S LINEAGE consists of every digital ÆRTHLING that hatched from the same physical cube. Whenever you trade one of your ÆRTHLINGS FIGS away, it will hatch a new ÆRTHLING and extend your ÆRTHLING’s LINEAGE. The same thing happens whenever that toy is traded again by someone else! Any ÆRTHLINGS that hatch from a FIG after yours are said to be “downstream” from your ÆRTHLING. An ÆRTHLING’S LINEAGE can level up whenever it is extended, or whenever a downstream ÆRTHLING levels up or completes a request. Be sure to check your LINEAGES frequently to collect LINEAGE XP to level up and gain LINEAGE Chests!

What do the stars mean when I scan a new ÆRTHLING?

Each ÆRTHLING gets rated from one to five stars when it hatches. More stars yield more bonus stats for the ÆRTHLING across five categories: attack, health, chopping, mining and gathering. The first ÆRTHLING hatched out of each FIG is guaranteed to be three stars or higher! There are even rumors of perfect Five Star “Platinum” ÆRTHLINGS…

I’m having trouble finding a specific resource. What should I do?

You can tap on any resource to learn the Biome that it comes from. Try defeating MOONLINGS in that Biome to find the resource…some are rarer than others! There may also be resources hidden away in secret places on a CHONK if you look hard enough…

How can I find new Biomes?

Each time you level up your Beacon you’ll be able to explore a new layer of ÆRTH. As you get further from your starting CHONK you’ll start to find new, rarer Biomes!

Can I change the appearance of my CHONKS?

Yes you can! Upgrades at the Geomancer’s Hut allow you to customize your world in interesting ways. Seek it out and explore the terraforming options at your disposal!
